con terra at the digital Esri UC

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting restrictions, the Esri User Conference had to take place virtually for the first time this year. A decision that Esri had to make at a time when it was still unclear how the world would change in the weeks to come. Despite that, the colleagues from Redlands managed to put together a truly impressive conference in such a short time. Of course, virtual formats cannot completely replace exchanges between individuals and groups, but they do have one immense advantage. By hosting the conference as a digital event, participants from all over the world could easily participate in the diverse conference programme. Around 86,000 participants from 180 countries took advantage of the opportunity to join Esri President Jack Dangermond live and digitally in the plenary sessions, or to learn all about new ArcGIS products in virtual tech sessions. In a digital exhibition, all participants were able to inform themselves about the offers and products of Esri partners, or exchange ideas with Esri employees in technical discussions.

As a silver sponsor, con terra played an active role in the event. The focus of our digital booth was on our security and access control solution for ArcGIS Enterprise: security.manager.

In total, a team of 10 employees monitored our virtual booth, exchanged ideas with interested parties using a live chat and provided information about the service portfolio of con terra in virtual meetings. All our information material is available to registered users for another six months:

To the information material – For those who were not registered for Esri UC, we will be happy to provide the material on request.

Not only has the digital Esri UC been an opportunity for exchange, but above all an occasion for knowledge transfer. A large number of our colleagues took advantage of the wide range of workshops and tech sessions and networked with Esri colleagues on the other side of the world to learn about the new features in ArcGIS. This way, we remain up to date in order to pass on this knowledge to our customers and to apply it in projects at the best.

This digital format was a new experience for us as well and we are curious to see how Esri UC will develop in the coming period.
