As in previous years, we will again refrain from sending cards and presents at Christmas and instead support charitable projects. This year, we are pleased to be able to support two remarkable associations from our region: the Outpatient Children's and Youth Hospice Service Südliches Münsterland and the Uganda-Hilfe St. Mauritz.

The Outpatient Children's and Youth Hospice Service Südliches Münsterland offers help for families with children, adolescents and young adults who are suffering from life-shortening illnesses. The volunteers accompany the children, their siblings and parents on their journey through life from the moment of diagnosis. Life with all its facets, dying and the time after the death of the children are the focus of the work. More information can be found here.  

The main focus of Uganda-Hilfe St. Mauritz is the village development project Obiya Palaro near Gulu in the north of the country.  In this region, a brutal civil war raged for 20 years until 2010, spreading fear and terror.

Clean drinking water, medical care, schools and education are the foundations of the project. The Corona pandemic hit the facility hard, compounded by heavy rains that destroyed some of the crops.
