con terra receives Analytics to Insights Award

Analytics to Insights AwardRedlands, CA. Esri, the world's leading provider of location intelligence and GIS, has honoured con terra for its outstanding use of GIS technology with the Analytics to Insights Award. The award was handed out during the Closing Session at this year's Esri Partner Conference on March 17. Around 3,000 participants out of Esri partner companies had taken the opportunity to register for this year's virtual conference.

In the award citation, Robert Laudati, Director of Global Partners & Alliances of Esri Inc., stated that con terra is particularly successful in applying Esri technology in corporate environments in such a way that customers gain new and important insights through the targeted analysis of geodata and can use these profitably to fulfil their tasks.

One project with which con terra was able to score points in this highly competitive award category was the BodenBewegungsdienst Deutschland (BBD) of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), which went into operational service in 2020:

Since ground elevations and subsidence can pose a great danger to the population and infrastructure, the BGR records the movement of the subsoil with millimetre precision on the basis of satellite-supported raster data and makes this data available for important planning and monitoring tasks. From a technological point of view, the BigData application developed by con terra relies on an Esri technology stack with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Portal and Esri GeoAnalytics Server. Combined with other technologies, the approximately 48 million measurement points are brought together in a high-performance overall solution, analysed, processed, managed and made available via a web application.

"We are particularly excited about this award as it underlines the enormous potential of geoinformation and highlights the benefits of our GeoIT solutions for customers," says Karl Wiesmann, Managing Director of con terra GmbH.

In addition to the actual projects, active cooperation on a technical and organisational level is also an important aspect of the close partnership with Esri. As such, con terra has been a member of the CTO Council since 2019, and with the membership in the Esri Partner Advisory Council (PAC), another milestone of the close relationship was set in 2020. In concrete technological programmes, such as the containerisation beta test on Kubernetes, con terra's expertise is also highly valued.
